About This Fishery

A five-lake day-ticket complex set in peaceful organic farmland just outside Leeds, established in the 18th century and developed into a modern commercial fishery. Swillington offers something for every style of angler: from the prolific match-style Alder and Willow lakes to the heavily stocked Chestnut carp runs water, the quality tench and barbel of Oak Lake, and the prestigious Specimen Lake for big carp to 33lb. Disabled access pegs on every lake and priority parking for blue badge holders.

Tackle
  • Barbless hooks only throughout the fishery.
  • Carp anglers must carry a landing net of appropriate size and an unhooking mat.
Conduct
  • All fish must be returned. No keepnets for carp.
Access
  • Closed 1st December to 28th February each year.
  • Day tickets: pay at the fishery office on arrival. No advance booking required.
  • Maximum 15 anglers on the Specimen Lake at any time.
  • Night fishing is not available on Sundays.
  • Night fishing must be pre-booked by phone or email. Leave by 10am the following morning.
  • Open Wednesday to Sunday only. Closed Monday and Tuesday.
  • Priority parking available for disabled anglers and over 65s (blue badge or ID required).
