Lindholme Lakes

One of the North of England's largest and most celebrated commercial fisheries, set across 90 acres of Don Valley farmland near Epworth. Ten coarse lakes with 450+ pegs hold enormous quantities of carp, F1s and silverfish; match weights of 200lb+ are routine and the Beeches Lake record stands at 298lb. Home to the national-level Drennan Lindholme Championships. Coarse species throughout; the on-site trout lake (fly only) is a separate water. Restaurant, bar, tackle shop, lodges and touring caravan park on site.

Autumn sees fish behaviour shifting as temperatures drop through September and October. Shallow fishing remains effective into September but gradually becomes less reliable -- switch to fishing on the deck earlier in the day rather than waiting for fish to rise. Pellet still catches well but worm, caster and corn become increasingly important as the water cools. On Laurels and Beeches, chopped worm and caster on a short to medium pole line is a reliable autumn method, particularly as the large perch and quality bream come onto the feed in clearer water. On Loco and Bonsai, a Method feeder or small pellet feeder cast to open water or island features will keep bites coming through the cooler part of the day. The margins slow down compared to summer but can still produce good fish mid-afternoon when any available sunshine has warmed the shallower areas. On Willows and Bennys, fish start to push into the deeper central areas -- extend pole lines out to 13-14m and fish closer to the bottom. Maggots become useful again in the latter part of autumn, particularly on Beeches and when targeting silverfish in cooler conditions.
