Langdale Lakes

Two mature coarse fishing lakes set in 8.5 acres of Lincolnshire countryside at Langworth, on the A158 between Lincoln and Skegness, run by Tony and Karen Bostock. Lily Lake is a 1.6-acre former gravel pit with 120 years of history, stocked with Mirror and Common Carp to 28lb; Willow Lake is a densely-stocked 1.4-acre mixed coarse lake. Adults-only site (18+). Pegs reserved by phone; overnight accommodation in B&B lodge, touring pitches and bell tents also available.

• Adults only (18+) -- minimum age to fish at Langdale Lakes is 18 years.
• Reserve a peg by calling 01522 752414 before arriving.
• Open April 1 to mid-November only. Day fishing 7:30am from April; 8:00am from October.
• All licences, line/rig set-up and equipment to be shown on arrival before fishing.
• All equipment that may touch water or fish (nets, slings, cradles, mats) must be dipped in tanks provided. All equipment must be dry on arrival -- wet equipment will result in no fishing.
• Barbless hooks only. No "Gripz" hooks. The "magic twig" device is banned.
• No pole fishing.
• No surface fishing. Minimum 12-18 inches between float and hook; minimum 12-18 inches between hook and water surface.
• No nuts, bread or floating baits.
• Groundbait may only be used on a feeder or method rig -- no loose groundbaiting. Maximum 1kg bait per person per 24 hours.
• No fixed lead rigs. Safety release of lead weights required in case of break-off.
• Leaders/sublines with safety breakaway methods must be used. No braided mainline or leaders longer than 1 metre. No leadcore.
• Mainline to be stronger than the subline/leader.
• Large padded unhooking mats or cradles must be used on both lakes for all fish (minimum 650mm x 950mm x 50mm).
• Large carp-friendly landing net must be used for larger fish and carp -- minimum 30 inch net required.
• No keep nets.
• Fish to be retained in sling/landing net no longer than 10 minutes. All carp over 25lb to be reported to owners immediately.
• Carp care kit must be available at the peg at all times.
• Rods must not be left unattended; lines to be reeled in if more than 3 metres from rods.
• Bait boats may be used carefully within your own swim.
• Bivvies to be positioned to allow others to walk around the lake safely. Single-person bivvies only unless prior agreement. Day shelters on touring pitch pegs only.
• No visitors to day or night anglers -- no exceptions.
• No glass around the lakes. No bonfires. Radios at low volume.
• Maximum 5mph speed limit within the grounds.
• Leftover bait must be taken home -- not placed in the lake or bins.
• Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times and mess cleared away.
• All anglers must hold a valid Environment Agency rod licence.
• Random rig checks may be carried out.
