About This Fishery

A popular council-run country park with two well-stocked coarse fishing lakes set in attractive parkland near Pontefract, managed by Hemsworth Town Council. The larger lake has sandy beaches and is used for pedalo rides alongside the fishing; the smaller lake is tucked away in a more secluded setting and is particularly good for wildlife watching. Both lakes have 36 pegs on grass or gravel and are suitable for all levels of angler. The park also features a lakeside cafe, beach shop and adventure playground, making it an ideal family day out.
