About This Fishery

A 70-acre reservoir built by Thomas Telford in 1827 to top up the Birmingham canal network, still serving that purpose today. Set close to the city centre, it is a designated Local Nature Reserve and one of Birmingham's most distinctive urban fisheries, holding bream, carp, roach, perch and pike.
