About This Fishery

A 350-acre country park between Hurst and Winnersh comprising seven lakes, two rivers, meadows and woodland. Managed by Wokingham Borough Council Countryside Service. Two waters are open to casual day ticket anglers: White Swan Lake (a 24-acre former gravel pit with 90 swims, top quality carp) and the River Loddon (barbel, chub, perch and pike). Several other lakes on the complex are specimen group members only.

Night fishing restricted to Specimen Group members (waiting list currently CLOSED). Flexible spawning closed season applies with on-site signage.

The River Loddon winds through the western side of the country park. Excellent quality fish with Barbel, Chub, Perch and Pike as the main targets. Open to casual day tickets and day season tickets. Statutory close season applies: no fishing 15 March to 15 June.

  • All anglers aged 12 and above must hold a valid EA Rod Licence.
  • Day tickets purchased from the car park ticket machine. Enter "FISH" as your car registration and as the reference. Pay separately for car parking. Telephone card payment also available -- call 0118 9
  • Fishing permitted from dawn to dusk on day tickets. Night fishing on White Swan Lake is restricted to Specimen Group members only.
  • On lakes: a flexible 1-month closed season applies when fish are spawning -- watch for on-site signage. On the River Loddon: statutory close season applies from midnight 14th March to midnight 15th Ju
  • No fish are to be killed or removed from the country parks under any circumstances.
  • Day ticket holders who suspect another angler does not hold a valid ticket are expected to challenge them.
  • Tickets and permits are not transferable.
