Former Victorian reservoir, now a mature coarse fishery. Designated fishing areas around the bank. A smaller flood-storage lagoon (created 1970s) is a nature reserve and not available for fishing.
A 56-acre Victorian reservoir built in the 1822 as a headwater tank for the Wiltshire and Berkshire Canal, now managed by Swindon Borough Council as part of a popular country park. The lake holds carp to over 50lb alongside strong populations of bream, roach, tench, rudd and pike in clear, open water.
