About This Fishery

A picturesque 12-acre coarse fishing site on the edge of Cannock Chase between Rugeley and Stafford, with two well-stocked pools known as Damsel and Dragon. The site also has camping and caravanning facilities and wheelchair-accessible pegs.

Fishery Rules
Tackle
  • Barbless hooks only
  • Keepnets in matches only
  • Landing nets are STRICTLY allocated for each pool; obtain a new landing net if changing which pool you fish.
  • Landings nets provided for every pool; please bring your own handle.
  • Maximum hook size of 10
  • Never handle fish with towels or cloths of any kind
  • No Braid of any kind
  • No surface fishing
  • No unhooking mats
  • Your rod must be attended at all times whilst a baited hook is in the water. DO NOT leave rod with baited hooks on the bank where ducks may eat the bait
Bait
  • No left over bait to be thrown into the pools, please use bins provided
  • STRICTLY FISHERY FEED PELLETS ONLY (checks will be made)
Conduct
  • Abuse to the fishery or site staff will no be tolerated and will result in a life time ban
  • All fish 4oz or above must be netted
  • Maximum of one rod per person
  • N.B. Hook checks are made
  • No dogs around the pools – expect guide dogs
  • Please note all children under 16 years must have a responsible adult with them at all times with some angling knowledge.
  • Respect other anglers no loud music, BBQ’s or alcohol on the bank
Access
  • All anglers to hold a current Environment Agency Rod Licence and must produce it to anyone requesting to see it
  • All tickets MUST be purchased from the lodge before commencing fishing; ONE spectator per angler (no groups of spectators permitted)
  • If tickets are not purchased prior to fishing then you will be charged an on the bank price
  • One ticket is for one person NO SHARING
  • Please read all the fishery rules on the notice board upon arriving
