About This Fishery

A well-established day-ticket coarse and match fishery on a 200-acre estate on the Solway Coast, around 15 minutes from Carlisle. Nine lakes are fully stocked, including a purpose-built canal lake, and the fishery holds the Scottish match fishing record at 128lb 6oz. On-site tackle shop, toilets, and caravan/camping facilities.

Fishery Rules
  • Fishing permits to be purchased prior to commencement of fishing
  • Fishing is from platforms only – NOT bridges
  • No rods to be left unattended whilst the hook is in the water
  • All fish over 2 ounces must be netted, not swung to hand
  • Trophy shots must be taken over an unhooking mat, with the fish being no more than 20 inches above the mat
  • Fish must be returned to the water from the platform they were landed on, as quickly and safely as possible
  • No fish to be handled in rags or placed on hard surfaces
  • No fish to be moved from pool to pool or removed from the fishery
  • Poachers will be prosecuted
  • Any children (under 16 years) that are fishing must be accompanied by a fishing adult at all times
  • Toilets are provided for your convenience – use them NOT the bushes
  • Visitors are not permitted to roam and must stay within 10 meters of the waterside
  • All rubbish to be placed in bins or taken home
  • All anglers must be in possession of a landing net & unhooking mat
  • Landing nets must be used at all times
  • No keep-nets – for Biosecurity reasons
  • Maximum breaking strain of line 12lb
  • Maximum hook size 10
  • Barbless hooks only
  • No braided line or braided hook lengths of any description
  • No audible bite alarms, radios and phones must be made quiet
  • No liquidised meat baits
  • Fish friendly ground baits and pellets only
  • All baits must be in bait boxes NO tins of any description on the bank-side
  • Un-used baits must NOT be left on the bank-side
  • No Spinning
