A long-established, family-run, two-lake carp fishery in the picturesque Cheshire countryside near Betley, 3.5 miles from J16 of the M6. Founded in 1984 by the Barratt family, Brookside Lakes has a fine reputation for quality carp angling in a peaceful setting, with the Specimen Lake offering roomy swims overlooking the Welsh hills.
Top pool. Pleasure fishing only — no matches. Mix of hard-standing and grass swims. No pole fishing. No children under 16. Overlooks Cheshire and Staffordshire countryside. Keep it simple: pellets, sweetcorn, maggots, bread.
Bottom pool. Open for pleasure during week and weekends; may be used or part-used for competitions at weekends. Small central island planted with trees. Poles and rods permitted. Well behaved children welcome.
