Fishery Rules
Tackle
  • Anglers Paradise is a barbless hook fishery
  • Forceps and disgorgers must be used
  • Maximum of two rods on Anglers Paradise lakes (dependant on budget ticket purchased)
  • No 360 rig
  • No ALL plastic and fake baits
  • No Bait boats
  • No Barbed or micro barbed hooks. Barbless hooks only. No variations.
  • No Bolt/death rigs. Leads must be able to detach/release in the unfortunate event of a break. Please notify the bailiff of all snap offs
  • No Drones
  • No Fish finders
  • No Fly fishing
  • No Keep nets (unless otherwise stated)
  • No Lead core or any leader with a metal core. Tubing and lead free leaders are permitted
  • No Long shank curve hooks
  • No Lure fishing
  • No Mainline braid (spod and marker only)
  • No Nuts and pulses (Corn and Hemp only unless purchased from the on-site tackle shop)
  • No Shock/snag leaders
  • No Spring loaded gadgets designed to aid the hooking of fish!
Conduct
  • A ‘Rod License’ should be held
  • Active fishing equipment should never be left unattended
  • Anglers must use dedicated swims where applicable. Swims have been built for the safety of the angler and to protect our banks.
  • Anyone found littering will be asked to leave the site. Please care for the environment.
  • Bivvies only. NO tents. Pop-up toilet tents are an exception.
  • Day fishing is from dawn till 8pm. After 9pm is considered night fishing. When heading out early please respect guests sleeping in their villas and night anglers already present on the lakes.
  • Fishing equipment is not to be left on swims unattended for any longer than two hours. Lunch breaks, toilet breaks, etc, are acceptable. Please leave equipment in a responsible and tidy manner
  • Never pull for a break. Report snagged fish. Do not leave tackle on islands or in trees. Please report ANY incidents of breakages, caused by fish or otherwise
  • Night fishing MUST be pre-booked. This is in accordance with fire safety regulations.
  • No dogs and/or pets
  • No driving to the lakes. Please park at the Easy Access car park where required. Owners of cars found beyond the gates will receive an instant ban from fishing and asked to leave site. This is for hea
  • No excessive alcohol consumption. We understand fishing is a way to relax and unwind, and some enjoy this to be accompanied by an alcoholic drink. We kindly ask this to be discreetly enjoyed in a resp
  • No loud music. Always keep noise to a minimum. Please use a receiver where possible. Alway respect fellow anglers.
  • No touching the fence. Beware of the electric strand.
  • NO VISITORS! Anglers Paradise is exclusive to our guests staying in our villas. Outside visitors ARE NOT permitted!
  • Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult at all times
  • Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult (18+) when night fishing
Safety
  • A separate container for fresh lake water should be used to pour over your catch whilst on the mat and taking photos
  • ALL anglers must carry specialist fish care kits including antiseptic ointments
  • Anyone found to have excessively retained fish will receive an instant ban and will be asked to leave site
  • Catfish over 20lb should not be held like Carp for photos. Present the fish with tail up your arm with the majority of the fish laid safely on the mat (portrait photos are best for Cats).
  • Fish are to be retained for length of time it takes to set up photography equipment only
  • NEVER stand up whilst handling a fish. Please keep fish low to the ground when transporting and taking photos
  • Rods should be detached from fish prior to moving fish to the unhooking mat. Attempt to unhook the fish in the water. Detach or cut the rig if this is not possible.
  • Suitable fish care equipment must be used for the targeted species (specific lake rules follow)
  • Unhooking mats should be cool and wet prior to use
General
  • ALWAYS close the gates behind you
  • At Spawning times or when oxygen levels are low, certain lakes may be temporarily closed. We reserve the right to close any lakes at any time.
  • DO NOT abuse lifesaving equipment. Lifebuoys should be used responsibly and in emergencies only. Do not throw directly at the casualty.
  • Please respect other anglers and practice good lake etiquette
  • We understand most anglers are self-sufficient and toilet responsibly within their own means and within their area. But please consider the only toilets available are those located near reception (at
