About This Fishery

Two well-stocked coarse fishing lakes set in six acres of peaceful Lincolnshire countryside near Alvingham, three miles from Louth and run by Ian and Terri. Grass Lake is the specimen water with carp to low 20s including a famous one-eyed grass carp called Nelson; Monkey Lake has 23 pegs and is packed with mixed species for prolific sport. Three static caravans and electric hook-up pitches also available on site.

Specimen lake. Feature island in the centre surrounded by mature trees. No keepnets. Large carp landing nets and cradles required. Stocked with Mirror, Common, Grass and Koi carp to low 20s; also Roach, Rudd, Tench and Eels. The largest Grass Carp, known as Nelson (one-eyed), is a notable challenge to catch.

Prolific mixed species lake. 23 pegs. Stocked heavily with Roach, Rudd, Tench, Carp, Bream, Eels and Goldfish. Biggest Carp around 18lb. Unhooking mats required. Named after a monkey that previously lived on site.

Fishery Rules
  • No barbed or micro barbed hooks.
  • No keepnets allowed on either lake.
  • Large carp landing nets and cradles must be used when fishing Grass Lake.
  • Unhooking mats must be used on Monkey Lake.
  • Nets must be dried for 30 minutes in the light on the day of fishing and will be inspected before use.
  • No braided mainline on either lake.
  • No Tiger Nuts or any other type of nut as bait.
  • Groundbait may only be used on a feeder or method rig -- no loose groundbaiting.
  • Loose feeding with pellets or particles must be kept to an absolute minimum.
  • Any mistreatment of fish will not be tolerated -- respect and care of the fish stock is expected at all times.
  • Under 16s must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
  • Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times; mess must be cleared away.
  • Radios must be kept at low volume.
  • No bonfires.
  • All rubbish (including cigarette butts) and unused bait must be taken away on leaving.
  • All anglers must hold a valid Environment Agency rod licence.
